My name is Danielle File and I am a Junior at the University of Washington. I am a biology major intending to go to medical school. This summer I had the opportunity to go to Argentina with the UW Honors Program to study at the Universidad de San Andres. I was hoping to improve my Spanish and possibly get some Spanish credits to apply towards an intended minor. Unfortunately I recently learned it would take an additional year for me to graduate if I pursued this minor, and thus I decided to continue Spanish on my own rather than obtain an actual degree. Still, my experiences in Argentina greatly improved my ability to speak and comprehend Spanish, and allowed me to gain insight into a culture different than my own. The trip was truely a learning experience and as cheesy as it sounds, I feel like I grew as a person through my experiences in Buenos Aires.
