Research Paper

For my research paper I was originally going to focus on healthcare in Argentina. I collected newspaper articles everyday for 4 weeks however found that they all focused on one topic and one topic only..."Gripe A", or Swine Flu. Since one of the other members of the group was interested in Swine Flu and I didn't want to choose the same topic as her, I continued to pursue the healthcare system in Argentina by conducting interviews with two medical school students and an employee of a local insurance company. I realized however that it is an extremely complicated issue that has a lot more to do with the political system in Argentina than I orignally thought. Since I am not particularly interested in politics I decided to switch my topic to something that came up over and over again during my stay in Buenos Aires. I settled on nutrition and diet in Argentina and how it differs from that in the United States. I recalled many conversations with my host family and did a lot of research on the internet related to my new topic. Although it is only one very small part of my trip to Argentina, I enjoyed writing the paper and reflecting on my time in Buenos Aires.
